Subsea International Ltd is working with the University of Warwick Department of Physics to develop a novel sensor for integration onto a moving remotely operated robotic platform to provide wide area material condition monitoring of coated carbon steel assets in remote hazardous environments.

To work in air, underwater, in a variety of liquids or non-explosive gases, the sensor will monitor for early stage coating delamination and changes in plate thickness identifying the onset of corrosion.

Linked to a digital twin, data can be analysed, stored, modelled, and provide 3D visualisation for asset management teams.
